Want to Get Noticed Early?
You can also jumpstart your evaluation by submitting a video for a Pre-Tryout Player Evaluation!
- How to submit: Review our Video Submission Guidelines below to ensure you capture the exact drills, angles, and pitch counts our coaching staff is looking for.
- Please Note: This video submission is purely for early evaluation. It does not replace the in-person tryout. All players must still attend scheduled, in-person tryouts unless explicitly directed otherwise by the coaching staff.
Pre-Tryout Player Evaluations Instructions:
Thank you for preparing your video submission! These videos help our coaching staff get an early look at your skills, mechanics, and athletic foundation.
⚠️ IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: This video submission is strictly for evaluation purposes and is in no way considered a tryout. All players are still required to attend the scheduled, in-person tryout unless explicitly directed otherwise by the coaching staff.
What to Include in Your Video
To give our coaches the best view of your mechanics, please record and submit the following specific drills, camera angles, and counts:
1. Hitting / Offensive Drills
- Side-View Swing (5 swings): Set up the camera directly facing your open side (facing your chest/front of your body) while hitting off a tee or during soft toss. This allows coaches to evaluate your hand path, hip rotation, and extension.
- Rear-View Swing (5 swings): Position the camera directly behind the catcher/screen, looking out toward the field. This helps coaches see your swing plane and ball flight.
2. Fielding & Defense
- Head-On Fielding (5 reps): Position the camera in front of you (from the pitcher's/batter's perspective). Field ground balls or fly balls directly toward the camera so coaches can evaluate your footwork, glove presentation, and lateral movement.
- Primary Position Throwing (5 reps): Show us your arm strength and mechanics.
- Infielders/Outfielders: Show the catch, transition, and throw to a target.
- Catchers: Show 3-5 "pop-time" throws from behind the plate to second base.
3. Pitching (If Applicable)
- Side-View Mechanics (5 pitches): Capture your full windup and stretch from the side to show balance point, stride length, and arm slot.
- Behind-the-Plate View (5 pitches): Position the camera directly behind the catcher to show pitch movement, location, and velocity.
Video Quality & Submission Tips
- Keep it brief: Your final video should be no longer than 2 to 3 minutes total.
- Use a tripod or steady surface: Blurry or shaky footage makes it difficult for coaches to properly evaluate your mechanics.
- Wear baseball attire: Please wear baseball pants, a tucked-in shirt, and a hat so you look ready to play.
