Raiders Baseball Club Updates & News

14U Tournament Recap

Saturday, April 26th

Game 1
The Raiders Baseball Club 14U put up a fight against Mid Penn Prospects 14U but ultimately lost 6-2 on Saturday. The Raiders struggled early due to defensive errors, allowing Mid Penn Prospects to score in the first three innings. Colby Marshall pitched two innings for the Raiders, allowing one earned run and striking out one. Offensively, Cam Hershey had the Raiders' only RBI, going 1-for-2. Micah Worley, Marshall, Johnny Ross, and Hershey each had a hit. The Raiders also turned a double play on defense. Despite Mid Penn Prospects' disciplined play with stolen bases and no errors, the Raiders showed resilience and created scoring opportunities throughout the game.

Game 2

The Raiders Baseball Club 14U grabbed an early lead and then held off a late comeback attempt by Keystone Nationals White 14U to win a close 9-7 game on Saturday. Brayden Thompson got the Raiders on the board in the first inning with an RBI single. After briefly trailing, the Raiders retook the lead in the second thanks to hits from Nathan Street and Riley Wennell. The Raiders' offense exploded for six runs in the fourth inning on five hits, highlighted by Street's bases-loaded walk, giving them a 9-3 advantage. Micah Worley started on the mound for the Raiders, pitching into the fourth inning before Drew Grabowski came in relief. Brady McGeeney and Waylon Swope each had two hits for the Raiders, while Wennell and Street combined for four RBIs. Emmett Carter also contributed with two stolen bases. The Raiders showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks in the game.
